Terri Morris, a native of Lubbock and a product of Lubbock ISD from Maedgen, Smylie Wilson, and Monterey, is running for Lubbock ISD School Board District 1. Terri is committed to supporting parents, students, teachers and faculty, understanding the future of Lubbock is in our classrooms.
Terri works closely with career and technical education programs at the ATC and LISD middle schools, fostering business partnerships and creating programs that offer opportunities for all children. Terri advocates for certification programs enabling students to make a livable wage upon graduation. By working with local businesses, she knows we can invest in the future of Lubbock by supporting the whole child through building skills and character development programs.
Terri has firsthand knowledge as a grandmother and knows the importance and struggles of our Special Education programs and children. Every child deserves the best education and opportunities to have the best life possible and it is the school’s responsibility to provide that.
Terri’s pillars for LISD District 1:
Clear and transparent communication as well as accessibility to meet with all concerned parties.
The Board of Trustees must work together on behalf of all children in the district. With mutual respect and a willingness to strive for resolutions that are best for all children, and the ability to move on once issues are resolved.
Public education must be defended and protected so that tax dollars stay in District 1 and fund programs for every child including those with special educational needs and those facing economic challenges.
Defending the integrity of public education and protecting the rights of all children and their parents.
